Summary

In the context of the Bologna reform, Swiss universities are currently introducing master programs. Courses on the master level typically aim at higher learning goals like the application of knowledge, analysis, or the evaluation of data and information. Case studies are a highly appropriate method to achieve these overall learning goals and to to train problem-solving as well as decision-making. During the project CasIS – Cases in Information Systems – we are developing various e-learning modules, which should support the case study work in information systems courses on master level. We are producing five e-learning modules for the case study work in total. Four modules covering specific and real cases and one module that can be used by students online as an digital method and analysis tool box. To make sure, that students have the same level of knowledge at the beginning of the case study work, we are furthermore developing multimedia preparation modules. This modules support students by acquiring knowledge they are still lacking. The preparation modules consist of newly produced modules as well as of reviewed and adapted modules from the SVC projects FOIS and OPESS.
