Résumé
As an interdisciplinary field of music and ethnology, ethnomusicology describes, documents and
researches music traditions in their cultural context.
Ethnomusicology interactive – EMI is an on-line course which presents characteristic
ethnomusicological problems on the basis of authentic film and sound material. EMI consists of a
number of modules without a fixed study order. All the modules are linked by key words and each
module approaches the ethnomusicological problem from both the anthropologic and music
perspectives. EMI is a learning tool for studies in the fields of music and cultural studies for higher
education.
